Tinder is a dating application that uses your Facebook account to look for potential matches. Using your location, mutual friends and interests, this app will find the potential candidate that matches your preferences. Unlike other dating sites, this application uses a social graph that focuses on the geographical location and mutual friends to detect compatibility. This makes it easier to look for a match and meet them in person.

In using the application, the profiles of your matches will flash on the screen of your phone or tablet. If you are interested in a particular person, you swipe right. If not, you swipe left. If both people swiped right, they can now interact with each other through sending personal messages and chatting. However, if one swiped right and the other person swiped left, they cannot send personal messages to each other. Tinder only allows users who are interested in each other for them to communicate. The app interprets mutual interest (swiping right) as a ground for finding the perfect match.

4. No Annoying Messages. People can only send messages to their matches. Even if the other person is dying to meet you, if you do not swipe right on their profile they cannot send annoying messages to you.

5. Simple and easy to Use. This application shows only a limited number of photos and a short bio of the person. You do not have to browse tons of photos. With this limited information, you can easily identify what kind of person she is and quickly gauge if you have things in common and would like to pursue.

Chapter 2 – Getting Started: How to Create your Tinder Account?

Now, before you learn how to date the girl of your dreams, you should first make a tinder account. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to register.

1. Facebook Account: Make sure you have a Facebook account. As it was said in the first chapter, Tinder uses your Facebook’s personal information and photos to be able to register in this dating app. In case you do not have any, create one. Go to www.facebook.com and click sign up.

Scared to use your Facebook account because your friends might judge you?

Don’t worry! You will be surprised that some of your friends are also using the application. But if you are still embarrassed to broadcast it on Facebook, then find Tinder in your Facebook applications and click the settings button. You will see a list regarding the visibility of the posts of this application. Choose the option Visible Only by Me. From then on, nobody will know that you are using Tinder unless, they’re also using the app.

Is there a possibility that I would encounter bots?

Yes! Some people can fake their Facebook account. Maybe, they just like to make fun of other people. The good thing about Tinder is that you can easily verify if the person is a bot using the following signs:

• The other person asks you to click links and to sign-up for a porn site or a money-making websites
• The details on their Tinder account do not match the ones in their Facebook account Photos of the person are sexually suggestive
• They have strange tag lines
• The person keeps on sending you spam messages such as repetitive lines and links

Reminder: You should be aware of the fakes and bots. Instead of using your precious time to pursue your dream girl, you will just waste your time on them.

After setting up a Facebook account, double check the personal information on your profile. Edit as much as you can depending on the level of exposure you want people on Tinder to see. 3. Tinder Profile: This is the most important step as your profile give a first impression of you. Ask yourself, “How do you want people to know you? What best encapsulates me? Do I want a serious long term girlfriend? (In which case I would list your interests). Or do I want a more casual fling with multiple girls? (In which case you may want your profile to be more general to target a wider audience).

How to Choose Photos on Tinder: Four photos are enough for people to know your personality. Here is a guide in choosing each photo.

• Photo 1: Solo Picture This should be a photo which shows happiness and positive vibes. You should also look confident in this picture. Avoid using selfies where possible. Do not use a selfie for a first photo! The photo should give the impression you are happy and approachable, people should feel comfortable talking to you. You do not want to be the creepy guy sitting alone in a badly lit room with a serious face on.
• Also, avoid pictures that have crossed legs, hands on the pockets and folded arms. Make sure to have positive, relaxed body language.
• Photo 2: Social Gathering with Hot Girls In this photo, you should be with some hot girls. This creates a social proof that it is common for you to be around beautiful women. The photo shows that beautiful women value your company so you match should as well.
